Hello and welcome. My name is Lilian Guidry, and I’m a marriage and family therapist intern in the state of Texas. I am currently pursuing my Masters of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from National University.

My Background
I had a career as an engineer before experiencing a midlife disruption that changed my life and inspired me to pursue a graduate degree in systemic psychology. I'm naturally a systems thinker- as an engineer it was mechanical systems and as a counselor it's systemic psychology.
What is systemic psychology?
Marriage and family therapy looks at psychology from a systems perspective. Rather than focusing on a part of the system in isolation, it looks at the part as it applies to a whole. From a psychological perspective, it's looking at issues in context to the family of origin, intergenerational patterns, culture, race, gender, etc.
How I Can Help

- High conflict divorce
- Co-parenting

Therapeutic Approach
My clients know themselves and their lives better than anyone else. My therapeutic approach is custom tailored to each client. I use narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, emotionally focused couples therapy, and the gottman method.
Through a collaborative therapy process, I walk alongside my clients as they uncover underlying emotions and patterns, identify personal meaning and purpose, highlight strengths, and facilitate change where needed.
