How Does Therapy Work?
Therapy is a confidential process designed to help you address your concerns, come to a greater understanding of yourself, and learn effective personal and interpersonal coping strategies. It involves a relationship between you and a trained therapist who has the desire and willingness to help you accomplish your individual goals.
Therapy involves sharing sensitive, personal, and private information that may at times be distressing. During the course of therapy, there may be periods of increased emotions, but these dissipate as the issues are discussed and resolved. The outcome of therapy is often positive, although each individual’s journey will be unique. Your counselor is available to support you throughout the therapeutic process.
How Does Online Therapy Work?
Online therapy is done within the convenience of your own home. There’s no drive to the therapist’s office, and many clients find that scheduling is easier with online therapy. Regular therapy sessions are 55 minutes and initial intake sessions can last up to 70 minutes.
All telehealth therapy sessions are made through a secured video call (or phone call) with the therapist using our client portal. Due to HIPAA regulations, we are required to protect the online space with strong measures. Your online therapy experience is safe, easy to use, and convenient!
Of course, you’ll want to be in an environment that has minimal distractions. Arranging your environment to get the most out of your online counseling experience is an important step as you begin this process. Be sure your internet connection is stable and you have access to your client portal.
How Do I Start My Session?
Sessions are launched online through the client portal. We will walk you through the process of setting up an account through our website prior to your appointment. It's easy to schedule appointments and attend counseling sessions through our online portal.
